About Us

R. Patrick Hill, President
Hill is co-founder/partner in Media Solutions Consulting Group (MSCG) and president of HCP Associates, Inc. the holding company overseeing MSCG activity. Hill is a media specialist with a lifetime of experience in and around the communications industry. From his earliest days as a youthful paper carrier, Hill forged a career path including positions as a newspaper business manager, an advertising manager of a daily publication, broadcast producer, brand manager and ultimately head of an international consulting group dedicated to brand identity and marketing.

Hill has served as a senior product manager at Procter & Gamble, senior vice president of Griswold Eshleman Agency, director of Bozell & Jacobs, WTVT TV producer, and COO of Ensslin & Hall regional marketing. As president of the Hill & Associates Consulting Group and a Media Solutions partner, he has nearly 25 years of experience serving broadcast, newspaper and new media clients with emphasis on new products, new business, business management and new revenue production. He has been involved in work for over 100 daily and weekly news products, major magazines and television networks, as well as a host of assignments related to branding for consumer products and services.

Jeffrey Green, Senior Associate
Green is a co-founder/partner in Media Solutions Consulting Group (MSCG). Prior to the formation of MSCG, Green was with Media General in Winston-Salem, NC and Tampa, FL in increasingly responsible advertising, marketing and executive positions. This work with Media General culminated as vice president of Media General's Florida Newspaper Group, which includes The Tampa Tribune, two smaller dailies and twenty weekly newspapers. He previously worked in research, promotion, advertising and marketing positions for The Milwaukee Journal, The Wisconsin State Journal and The Washington (DC) Times.

In 2004, Green joined Gannett Newspapers as a senior manager in their Hawaiian operations and later was publisher of the Asheville Citizen-Times. He returned to the consulting role with Media Solutions Consulting Group in 2008.

Steve Shaw, Research Director
Shaw has a strong background in media research, with a concentration in publishing (newspapers and magazines), broadcast (network and cable) and interactive media. In addition, he has conducted primary research for non-media related companies in the areas of consumer satisfaction, new product evaluation, advertising effectiveness, consumer shopping analysis, employee research and public opinion polling. He conducted a national public opinion poll for 5 years in conjunction with the Associated Press. He has also supported the research efforts of non-profit organizations.

A graduate of the University of Richmond (VA) with a B.A. in Political Science/English, Shaw continued his education with postgraduate studies in research and statistics at Virginia Commonwealth University. He was a thirty-year employee of Media General, heading up their corporate research function before joining MSCG.

Shaw currently serves on the marketing committee for the Central Virginia Food Bank. He is a regional past president of the INMA (International Newspaper Marketing Association) and a former international board member of that organization. He is a past president of the Newspaper Association of America Research Federation (NAA) and a past president of the Richmond (VA) American Marketing Association.

Sean Coniglio, Consultant/Business Development
Coniglio has experience in business development in a wide range of industries. He is proficient in the use of traditional and electronic communications to gather important information and develop sales generation planning to further a client strategic plan. Early on in his career, he was first introduced to the industry by working with a startup company to develop a new product venture for a vertical market. Over the past 20 years that business and industry has grown to be a standard today. He is a graduate of both Andrew College in Georgia and The University of Tampa, with degrees in Marketing and Management. He has a passion for developing growth strategies through his experience in traditional marketing tactics and the integration of new technology.

Eric Polins, Consultant/Interactive Media and Product Development
Polins has extensive hands-on marketing and advertising experience with a wide range of clients related to the communications industry. An alumnus of the Pennsylvania State University, he received his B.A. in broadcast journalism. After serving with the United States Marine Corps, he returned to civilian jobs and became a specialist in the early stages of Web marketing. His communications credentials include motion picture industry work with Warner Brothers, HBO, Imagine Entertainment and 20th Century Fox. He also began his own production/communications firm incorporated as Gulf+Atlantic Films, and has recently ventured into the book publishing world with his first nationally released children's book---likely to become a children's classic. A gifted writer and a talented advertising manger, Polins also can be credited with a wide range of advertising agency awards, and a strong knowledge of multi-media. His oversight and knowledge in Web-based marketing has proven as an asset for Media Solutions clients.

Steve Greenbaum, Associate Director/Research
Over his career, Greenbaum has gained extensive experience in corporate research management on both the client and supplier sides of the industry. He has taken an active role in the evaluation of branding strategies for a growing list of clients for the firm. His broad exposure to financial, consumer products, trade specialties, and media issues, offers a solid balance of interpretive skills.

A native of the Northeast, Greenbaum has worked on some of the most prestigious package goods brands in the country. Before joining the group, Greenbaum worked for AC Nielsen, Burke Marketing, Abbott Laboratories, and Fact Finders---all in various research management assignments. He is skilled at research design, evaluation, implementation and interpretation.

Sarah Treichler, Research Manager
A Florida native, Treichler graduated from the University of South Florida with a B.A. in Advertising (a Zimmerman Advertising Graduate) and a degree in Psychology. While attending the university, she was employed in various positions including a multi-year role as an evaluator for the Department of Testing and Evaluation, and as a research assistant for USF’s Psychology Department. She was also involved in numerous on-campus academic and social programs. While in school and upon graduation, she was employed by The Tampa Tribune in the Research Department as an analyst assisting in a wide range of complex research assignments.

As a Research Manager and analyst for Media Solutions, Sarah oversees a wide variety of research assignments for the firm. Working directly with clients, she is an active participant in designing, managing and reporting both quantitative and qualitative studies on a wide range of subjects.

Sarah is currently a member of Ad2 Tampa Bay and active in the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology, as well as being involved in several non-profit organization functions each year.

Kelli Burns, Ph.D. – Asst. Professor in Media Studies, University of South Florida
Dr. Kelli Burns is an assistant professor of public relations at USF and has previously held faculty positions in mass media at Elon University and Middle Tennessee State University. She has a Ph.D. in mass communication with an advertising concentration from the University of Florida, a master's in mass communication from Middle Tennessee State University and a bachelor's in mathematics and business from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Burns has extensive research and analytical experience, having worked with many public relations and advertising clients for Prince Market Research in Nashville, TN, and interned in the advertising research department for Harris Interactive in New York, NY. Other work experience includes positions in marketing communications. Dr. Burns' research interests include online advertising and public relations.

Susan Schuler, Ph.D. – Research Director/President, Susan Schuler & Associates
Dr. Susan Schuler, President of Susan Schuler & Associates, formerly served as Director of Research with our parent company, HCP & Associates. Dr. Schuler has more than 25 years of experience performing marketing research studies for entities located throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond. She has taught marketing research at the undergraduate and graduate school levels as an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa. Dr. Schuler provides complete resources for quantitative and qualitative studies. The call center, data resource and ongoing field study applications continue to be an important part of our offering.
